Really Green Energy
Well yesterday at a BBQ, a friend casually mentioned that some scientists were close to an energy solution by figuring out how the sun is transformed in to the green of chlorophyll and thus from light energy to chemical energy and therefore would offer a solution to the world's energy needs. The scientists have determined the structure of the chlorophyll molecules that are responsible for harvesting light energy.
The scientists found that the chlorophylls are highly efficient at harvesting light energy.
The team's results one day could be used to build artificial photosynthetic systems, such as those that convert solar energy to electrical energy.
