I watched LIVE experiments being done on the SpaceLab, the international space station on Thursday 9/13. One was a jumping spider -- who jumps on its prey. They wanted to see how the spider would act in zero gravity.
Would it give up? jump on a wild trajectory? and not hunt for prey?
Well, the spider adapted quickly and learned to jump and catch flies in micro gravity. How interesting!!
In the past on other missions spidesr still spun their webs after a few shaky initial attempts. It makes me marvel at how adaptble earth's creatures are... Lovely.
