Who was Eva Peron?
Born poor in the dusty Argentinian countryside. One of a passel of kids. Her Mother, mistresss of a wealthy land owner.
A travelling Tango singer was her passport to the big city, Buenos Aires, and Eva seized her opportunity.
Eva has been criticized for using influential men as stepping stones, but I don't know if women had so many choices at that time. Recent information indicates she probably didn't have to sleep with the tango singer Agustin Magaldi to get him to take her to Buenos Aires, and there probably wasn't quite so much traffic in and out of her bedroom as believed. She DID create a career, as a radio & film actress.
Then she met Colonel Juan Peron (later President) and the rest is history.

I love her intricate hair styles & glamorous style. She was a great speaker, and did create useful charities. No doubt about it, she was fascinating.
Is there a place for glamour? Does it serve a purpose?

Horacio
